Hercules Oak Wall Phone - Turn-of-the-century quartersawn oak crank wall telephone manufactured by the Swedish-American Telephone Co. of Chicago, Illinois—a key producer serving the region's prominent Swedish immigrant community—featuring the ”HERCULES” model decal and original transfer logo on the front panel. The unit boasts nickel and brass fittings, brass ringer bells, hand-crank magneto mechanism, Bakelite mouthpiece, receiver, and internal components including the No. 3 condenser and five-magnet generator, along with a historical hand-drawn wiring schematic from Dexter Repair Works dated 1938 found inside the cabinet. The oak case exhibits minor surface wear, light chipping to the writing shelf edge, surface patination on metal components, age-appropriate toning to internal labels and included paperwork, and one missing securing screw for the front face.
