Fairbanks Cast Iron Scale - An exceptional early 20th-century doctor's office or medical balance scale manufactured by Fairbanks, featuring a tall cast iron pillar support, dual notched brass balance beams with poise counterweights, and classic cream-painted finish over heavy cast iron construction. The scale retains its original lettering decal with fine gold and red accents on the upper yolk bracket. Objectively, the item shows honest vintage wear throughout, including extensive crazing and cracking to the painted finish, scattered paint loss, oxidation, and heavy wear to the foot platform revealing the dark underlying metal; mechanics remain fully operational.
