Bausch & Lomb Optical Collection & Lens - This comprehensive collection features vintage scientific optics and accessories from the Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. of Rochester, N.Y. The centerpiece is a large, telescoping clear lens (Serial No. 2186015) measuring nearly 5” in length, likely an objective or eyepiece component for a larger optical instrument. The set also includes precision-machined achromatic microscope objectives, specifically a 40mm and an 8mm (0.20 NA) lens. These are accompanied by three threaded Bakelite canisters, four slip-on blackened brass tubes (one with a crinkle finish), and three unthreaded caps in brass and white metal. While the optics are professional-grade, they are currently housed in an old wooden liquor box that is not original to the set. The items are in good vintage condition, exhibiting expected age-related tarnish on the brass and light surface scuffs on the Bakelite and enameled finishes, though the glass and threads remain functional.
