Victorian Tabletop Magnifier & Mirror - Victorian-era turned wood optical table viewer stand featuring a turned central pedestal set on a round base with brass hardware fittings and dual brass adjustment wheels. Craftsmanship indicates late 19th-century origin, designed for close examination of documents, prints, and fine detail work rather than stereoview cards, utilizing a large 4.75” diameter magnifying lens mounted in an upper hinged panel alongside an adjustable lower 7.25” wide, 9.25” tall rectangular mirror. The glass lens and mirror panel remain structurally intact with no chips or cracks but a few very light scratches near the center of the lens. The mirror has some silver loss.. The central vertical support post exhibits stripped/damaged wooden threads at the upper crossbar junction requiring structural reinforcement to mount firmly, with small chips and breakage present near the upper side post terminals directly above the tightening wheels. Finish shows general age-appropriate surface wear, minor scuffs, and light dulling throughout. H 24”, W 13”, D 7.75”. Please see photos for condition. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
