Medical Faradic Battery Quack Device - This exceptional late 19th to early 20th-century antique medical faradic induction battery quack device is a remarkable artifact from the era of electrotherapy. Housed in its original leatherette-covered wooden case with a vibrant red fabric lining, the unit features an induction coil wrapped in striking red thread, precise brass and nickel-plated adjustment terminals, a switch toggled next to a stamped ”ON” mark, a finely turned wooden-handled metal electrode probe, and two cloth-insulated connection cords in green and maroon. Historically used by practitioners and home consumers alike under the pseudo-scientific belief that localized electrical currents could cure various ailments, this set stands as a beautifully preserved piece of medical history. The overall physical condition is good, showing minor superficial scuffs to the exterior leatherette, light dust accumulation to the internal wood deck, and gentle oxidation consistent with age on the metal components.
