Antique Marble Top Prescription Scale - An exquisite late 19th to early 20th-century pharmaceutical apothecary balance scale, featuring a honed marble slab top set upon a molded hardwood cabinet base. The top features twin brass balance pans fitted with opposing indicator pointers designed to align when weight is equalized, alongside a central resting disc with a footing stored in the center. An internal beam arrest mechanism is operated by a front brass knob to protect delicate internal pivots, with a locking knob located on the rear. The marble displays a soft age patina with scattered discoloration and minor edge wear, while the wooden base exhibits light scuffs and finish wear consistent with historic laboratory service; mechanical components appear operational, though fine calibration will be required for precise balance usage.
