Davis & Kidder Magneto-Electric Machine - An exceptional mid-19th-century medical apparatus, this Davis & Kidder's Patent Magneto-Electric Machine for Nervous Diseases was manufactured by W.H. Burnap in New York, U.S.A. Encased in a hinged wooden box, this Victorian hand-cranked electrotherapy device features brass gearing, an internal magnet assembly, velvet-wrapped coils, pair of cylindrical hand electrodes, and original wired leads. Also has sponge discs w/ handles. The piece presents in good antique condition with light exterior scuffing and age-appropriate surface wear to the wooden box, while the interior graphic paper label remains well-preserved and fully legible; mechanical components are complete and the crank turns smoothly.
