Elliott Bros London Artificial Horizon - This 19th-century scientific instrument by renowned maker Elliott Bros of London is a classic brass and black glass artificial horizon, historically used for navigational and surveying observations when a natural horizon was obscured. Crafted from lacquered brass with integrated spirit levels, adjustable leveling feet, and a ground black glass reflection plate, this precision tool comes housed in its original fitted mahogany storage case with brass latches. Overall condition is good for its age, displaying a natural patina and surface wear to the brass hardware; the wooden case exhibits small cracks on the lid as well as a long crack along the bottom, while the black glass plate has a small hairline crack in the upper central portion.
