Western Union Call Box & Porcelain Insulator - A classic pair of early communications relics, including a vintage Western Union Telegraph Co. porcelain-face call box with turn-key switch alongside a heavy brown porcelain high-voltage pin insulator. The call box features iconic deep blue and white Western Union branding on top and cast/stamped marks on the reverse including ”W.U. TEL. CO. CALL BOX 6-B” and an inspection stamp. Showing period character, the call box exhibits edge paint loss, residue, age discoloration to the underside housing, frayed cloth wiring, and partially remaining paper label, while the porcelain insulator displays light glaze wear and minor fleabiting along the inner base rim consistent with field use; overall good vintage condition.
