Antique German Glass Beer Hydrometer - An exquisite early 20th-century German scientific precision thermohydrometer, specifically designed for testing alcohol concentration in beer by weight percentage (”Alkoholmesser f. Bier u. Gewichtsprozenten”) calibrated at 15° Celsius. This finely crafted glass instrument features dual paper scale inserts displaying Celsius temperature graduations alongside percentage hydrometer readings, weighted at the base with metallic shot ballast and sealed within a clear blown-glass body. Stamped with serial number 14902, the piece comes complete with its original cylindrical cardboard protective storage tube. Condition is excellent overall, exhibiting light age-appropriate paper toning inside the glass chamber and minor wear to the outer protective sleeve, with no chips, cracks, or fractures observed in the glass main body.
