Brass & Wood Surveyor Tripod - An impressive early 20th-century field surveying tripod crafted from solid hardwood with brass fitting hardware, wing nut tensioners, and iron-shod metal tips. Designed with classic split-leg architecture and a 5.5-inch round wooden top plate bearing a vintage yellow stenciled letter ”A”, this piece embodies early civil engineering and transit mapping craftsmanship. Physical condition shows authentic age and field wear throughout, including scratching, scuffs, finish loss, light oxidation on the metal spikes, flaking to the yellow stencil, and a warm aged patina on the brass hardware; remaining structurally sound with functional hardware.
