Bidspirit auction | Vintage Dietzen Surveying Wooden Tripod
Vintage Dietzen Surveying Wooden Tripod - This mid-century surveyor's or engineer's tripod was manufactured by the Eugene Dietzgen Company in Chicago, Illinois. Crafted with solid hardwood legs and robust brass hardware—including top wing-nut fasteners, an upper threaded mounting head attachment, and protective metal shoe tips—it represents classic mid-20th-century American drafting and drafting instrument design. The wood retains a warm original finish with the crisp black and gold ”DIETZGEN MADE IN U.S.A.” decal clearly intact on one leg. Physical condition is good overall with light expected surface wear, scuffs, minor varnish flaking around the hinges, and natural patina to the brass elements and steel shoe tips; all mechanical fittings appear intact. Estimated measurements: H 4' 11”, W 5”, D 5'. From the collection of Dale Beeks. Please see photos for condition. Note: Pickup/Transport required. Contacts available Post-Auction.
