North American Brown Wax Cylinder Record - An early 1890s brown wax cylinder record, complete with its original heavy cardboard storage container. An accompanying period handwritten note attributes this specimen as a ”North American blank” featuring ”faint singing” from a historic home or field recording. The cylinder exhibits a vertical hairline crack extending approximately 1.5 inches upward from the base, along with typical surface aging, heavy mottling, and organic discoloration, while the storage tube shows expected shelf wear, scuffing, and minor fading.
