Cold War Zeiss Orion 80 Fero Z51 Night Vision Set - This is 1980’s-1990’s Zeiss Orion 80 Fero Z51 Night Vision Scope - German Made Telescope set, Target. Verse. No. 5855-12-166-5705 in its original case. The scope itself is in very good condition with clean optics, a couple of small nicks in the paint from minor abrasions in several locations from handling and/storage. The overall finish is clean. The flexible rubber/plastic components often fail on pieces of this vintage, and this is the case for the straps holding the lens cover tightly onto the sight. There is a clean break on both straps. See photos for detail. Battery compartment of the sight is clean and as it should be. The protective case has spots for additional batteries, tools, small parts, lens wipe, and three mounts for the sight onto the weapon. The interior molded foam rubber is in very good, clean condition. The sight itself is kept and carried in am OD canvas zipper case w/carrying strap. Unsure of its operational status, but cosmetically it looks like it should function as it should. Please see photos.
