AKM Type I Bayonet & Czech VZ58 Bayonet - For the Cold Warriors offered are a pair of bayonets. 1) Czechoslovak Republic—VZ–58 bayonet for the 7.62 mm. VZ-58 assault rifle, “Z9562” on Ricasso. The Czechoslovak Republic was the only Warsaw Pact nation that did not use the AK47 or AKM. Reddish-brown composition plastic grip, introduced in the early 1960s. One exposed rivet. The scabbard is leather with an integral belt loop. No makers marks on scabbard. Faint writing on back surface. Blade surface in unissued condition and measures 6.75” long. Overall 11.25”. See photos. 2) AKM Type I bayonet. Groundbreaking as the Kalashnikov itself, it incorporated a number of versatile features. One piece molded plastic grip and pommel. Blade is stainless steel. Unfullered, with sawback teeth on top. Oval window cut for engaging with wire cutter in scabbard tip. Blade measures 5.75” long and overall 11”. Scabbard metal body with rubber insulator collar upper half. Clip on belt hanger of aluminum and leather. In very good condition. Electro pencil marks on bayonet handle, and scabbard body, typical of issued pieces. 13.5” long together x 2.5” x 1.5”. See photos.
