WWII Named Signal Corp Grouping Pacific - Very nice grouping associated with the WWII service of William E. Taube, who served in the US Army Signal Corps. Prior to being deployed to the Philippines, his unit was assembled and known as the 1096 Signal CO, 63rd Service Group, responsible for installation and maintenance of communications on several islands. When Gen MacArthur evacuated the Philippines, Bill's unit followed the general to Australia , and at a later date, returned to the islands. Collection includes 1) framed display featuring photos, souvenirs and documents relating to his service. 2) Four pocket service coat and trousers with visor cap. His medals include the Philippine Liberation Medal w/bronze campaign star, WWII Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign medal w/3 campaign stars, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal. Army Air Force Radio Specialist patch on sleeve cuff. Marksman badge, brass collar discs, 3) EE-8 Signal Corps field phone. Cord is supple/pliable, and the leather case has an addition of a brass cap badge where the locking clasp would be.
