Korean War Named Uniform-Lone Survivor - Named uniform to SGT Robert B. Hill, 27th Regiment., 25th Infantry Division. He was the lone survivor of his squad, having survived a mortar attack from North Korean forces. The injuries he sustained to his legs, required amputation of both of them. Grouping consists of: Ike jacket (Size 38R, dated March 10, 1951. Ribbons awarded: Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal, National Defense Service Ribbon, Korean Service Medal w/two campaign stars, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation. CIB (Sterling silver), Expert Marksmanship Qualification badge, Rifle. US and Infantry collar insignia, pair of 27th Infantry Regiment distinctive unit insignia (made in Japan) on shoulder tabs. Single billion thread ”Korea” shoulder tab on left shoulder. Blue infantry shoulder cord on right. Garrison cap blue piping, size 44. Khaki shirt and necktie. Accompanied by plastic binder containing copies of original documents, letters and photos pertaining to SGT Robert Hill's story. Also three original currency notes in pages [2 MPC and 1 Korean]. Consignor acquired uniform from his sons.
