Span-Am US M1899 Khaki Cotton Drill Uniform-WWI? - A very interesting US drill uniform jacket and matching trousers. The jacket has no pockets and has single row of 5 bronze buttons with rimless US eagles. The back of all the buttons are marked Greenwood Co. Detroit Mich. The straight leg trousers have 5 brass dish button fly and matching 4 buttons inside waist area for suspenders. There are no spec tags or ink stamps anywhere on either jacket and trousers. The high collar is rather short and there is no sign of collar insignia or sleeve patches. We put this into the possible time period of 1898 to 1915. When buttoned up, the 5 buttons line up to the right and not down the middle. The condition is very good with light wear and age. This is a very unusual and scarce US Army uniform set.
