WWII Filipino Salakot Wicker Sun Helmet-Salacco - Helmet was brought back from WWII and came from a Veteran's estate. It appears to be from the Philippines and is one of the high quality wicker made sun helmets. Very finely made from the body to the rim to the headband. Shows age and wear to top and rim. It is clearly not a tourist sold hat. These were worn by both the native Filipinos and well-to-do foreign visitors. This type of sun helmet is hard to find for sale.
