Edison Gem Model A Cylinder Phono w/Horn - This early machine with its oak cover has original finish and hardware and has been rubbed out and recoated. This early top cover is embossed as opposed to being decaled. The embossing is present but it is weak and barely legible. This early cover also features a broad molding banding around the base of the cover. The back piece of this banding has been replaced. Has an early Gem speaker with a good stylus which is housed in the appropriate early style carriage. Both the carriage and mandrill move freely. The motor housing has its original black paint, pinstripes and decals in good condition with the usual minor wear. Has it original winding key. The motor winds and runs. Also included is an original 10-1/4”L black cone horn which is 4” D at the large end. Has its original black paint and gold stripes with a few minor dings and surface rust but is in otherwise good condition. Measures 9-1/2” W X 7-1/2” D X 8” T.
