Pathe Girard System Verite Cyl Phonograph w/Horn - This unusual machine in its wood cabinet has its original finish and decal in overall good untouched condition with a few nicks and abrasions here and there. Has a crisp, clear red and gold decal with the Pathe rooster. As with many Pathe machines it has a reverse type flip over style cabinet eliminating the need for a top cover. When inverted it has its original carrying handle. This machine with its Girard System is quite versatile. Has a black composite reproducer with a good stylus. Has its two original mandrills for both salon and standard cylinders. In addition on the back side of the machine it has provisions for more conventional floating style reproducer and horn which attaches directly to the carriage. The machine is currently set up for playing salon size cylinders. The mechanism has its original nickel plating in good condition. Appears to have replacement governor straps and weights. Has its original winding key and the motor winds and runs. Has all its original, complex wire support hardware which has some rust and pitting. Also included is an original 13” L spun aluminum horn which is 10-1/4” D at the large end. The small end of the horn has an original Pathe marked rubber connector. Cabinet measures 13-1/2” L X 9” D X 6” T when inverted and closed.
