Frati 37 Key Barrel Operated Street/Monkey Organ - *NO Shipping! Pick up or buyer arranged transport ONLY*! This wonderful machine in its wood cabinet featuring elaborate inlay and multicolored exotic woods has its original finish and is in overall good original condition with several marks and abrasions from years of use. The front of the cabinet features fabric inserts one of which is a tapestry featuring dancers and a musician. Inserts are in original condition with evidence of some repairs. Also on the front is the maker's name and country of origin as well as elaborate plant like inlays of exotic multicolored woods. The 4 lower corners have brass reinforcements. The other three sides of the cabinet have inlay borders as well. .The 37 key crank operated mechanism features flutes, violins, and most likely clarinets. The mechanism has evidence of an older restoration and operates smoothly and plays loud and strong. This beautiful organ sits atop what appears to be a Frati push cart. The push cart has 4 wooden spoke wheels, push/pull handle, and brakes. The wheels and chassis of the cart resemble that of a baby carriage and may be a marriage of various antique parts. Looks good and presents well. The organ and cart measure 30” W X 8” D X 42” T with the handle projecting an additional 10”. A real gem. Organs of this caliber are rarely seen.
