WWII USAAF Type C16 Adapter Gun Mount-50 Cal - This adapter is from the P-51 pilot whose grouping and RAF flying boots are also in this auction. The Bell Aircraft Company mount was made to attach a Remington Model 11 semi-automatic shot gun and practice leading your targets like you have the machine gun. It shows age and wear. Spec tags are good - direct label on bottom is partly covered with paint. One of the two bars that the shotgun receiver is locked into is bent inward and needs to be bent back into proper position. It has a 64,XXX serial number. One of hardest WWII aircraft devices to find because records indicate that very few of these survived after the war.
