Unbelievable! Colt 1911 ”US Army” Pistol (C)226016 - Unbelievable! ”1918” Colt 1911 ”US Army” .45acp Pistol in Excellent condition! The owner states his great uncle served in WWI. He completed basic training and was shipped to France where sadly, he contracted influenza upon arrival during the influenza pandemic of 1918, and passed away. His mother traveled all the way to France to see where he passed away and to claim his belongings. They included his sidearm. It sat in the holster for about 70+ years, until now. The condition is unreal! It is almost like new! There's NOT even a ”dummy” mark on the frame by the take down lever. There is an ”GHS” (Major Gilbert H Stewart) inspection mark above the mag release. ”P H”stamped on the barrel hood, and ”H” (Frank Homer) stamped on the back of the slide above the firing pin. ”UNITED STATES PROPERTY” is stamped on the left side of the frame. ”MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY” on the right side of the slide. Everything looks correct and beautiful! The magazine is a correct two tone with a lanyard ring. It comes with a ”1917” HOYT ”U.S.” flap holster (its home for 70+ years) in VERY good condition.
