GIUSEPPE BESSI ”JOAN OF ARC” MARBLE BUST SCULPTURE - Professor Giuseppe Bessi (Italian, 1857 - 1922) antique late 19th, to early 20th century hand-carved marble bust sculpture depicting Joan of Arc; adorned in an elegant flowing headdress and richly detailed garment. Executed in beautifully figured ala baster with contrasting natural veining throughout the drapery, the sculpture displays the refined craftsmanship and romantic Orientalist influence for which Bessi is widely collected.
