"White Magic" - Salvatore Testa
Oil painting on canvas, Italian school, depicting "White Magic". Dimensions: 250x220 cm. Wooden slats 80x40 mm with two central crossbars. Cotton canvas. The white horse symbolizes the search for the supernatural. It is a recurring symbol in mystical traditions across various cultures. From Muhammad to Sai Baba, heavenly saviors often appear on a white horse. Curious individuals can find this referenced in the Book of Revelation by Saint John, a prophecy written in the final pages of the commercial Bible. It refers to the 3000 years following the year zero. In the painting's scene, the figures on the left represent an ordinary family... Then, men in conflict are surrounded by small birds, immediately declaring the contrast with human battles. They seem to mock the heavy gravity of human concerns. Their presence, along with the colorful horses, highlights a magic that few can see in everyday objects. A group of fairy-tale colored horses burst above everyone's heads, proclaiming in an essential form an unfathomable beauty that oversees daily events. This beauty is animated by a dynamic energy beyond human imagination. The magic of creation is the source of everything and its hidden endpoint. The observer should not think in terms of names but of essences. Thus, it matters little if the figures wear Roman helmets or are horses, as every element here is connected by dreamlike logic. Salvatore Testa is a contemporary Italian artist born in Naples, whose artistic journey began in early childhood with a passion for drawing. Initially studying at an art high school and later architecture, Testa eventually left formal studies to fully dedicate himself to an artistic career, specializing as a poster artist and painter. His prolific output includes over 6000 figurative works sold worldwide, showcasing his versatile talent, akin to that of a symphonic composer and songwriter, despite being self-taught and unable to read musical scores. Testa's artistic achievements extend beyond visual art, having won numerous prestigious competitions in both art and composition. He is also deeply fascinated by research and knowledge beyond academic and scientific boundaries, which is reflected in his artistic exploration and creative endeavors.
