2 Vintage c1940 Quilt - GFG, Apple Core - Includes a Grandmother's Flower Garden Quilt, 62 by 75 inches. Comprised of one inch hexagons with rosettes having a solid red center, followed by a round of print, followed by another round of print or solid, followed by a round of white solid and separated by a green diamond garden path. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied red fabric binding. Workmanship is somewhat primitive. Along with a c1950 Apple Core quilt measuring 72 by 89 inches. It is comprised of 240 Apple Core shapes, 5.5 by 4 inches, with 120 print or solid color fabrics and 120 alternating off white Apple Cores. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The binding is unfinished with the binding hand applied to the front and still needs to be turned to the reverse and hand finished.
