Antique c1850 Carolina Lily Antique Quilt - Antique c1850 Carolina Lily Antique Quilt measuring 85x85”. It is comprised of 25 blocks, 10x10”, set on point, with off white setting squares, triangles, and 6 inch border. It is hand pieced, hand appliquéd, and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with the back narrowly brought to the front, and applied by hand. The overdyed green print is believed to be European from the 1840s and most likely imported and the yellow print a quercitron on yellow, used 1830 to 1860.
