Vintage c1940 Shoo Fly Amish Friendship Quilt - Vintage c1940 Shoo Fly Midwest Amish Friendship Quilt measuring 68 by 84 inches. It is comprised of 48 blocks, 8.5 by 8.5 inches, set straight, 6 by 8, with 24 shoo fly blocks and 24 alternating squares and solid black. There is a 3 inch white inner border and a 5 inch black outer border. It is machine pieced, hand embroidered, and hand quilted in black thread. Thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied white cotton fabric binding. In the center of each shoo fly block are hand embroidered initials in colorful Perl cotton thread.
