Antique c1880 Presidents Wreath Quilt Top - Antique c1880 Presidents Wreath Quilt Top measuring 84x84”. Chintz cotton leaves and Turkey red flowers and buds are applied to an off white cotton ground. It is comprised of 25 blocks, 16.5x16.5 inches, set straight, 5 by 5. It is machine pieced, and hand appliquéd. There is no batting but a white woven cotton textile has been applied to the back by machine. The reverse has red embroidered turkey tracks along the seams on the pieced sections along 2 sides There is no batting or quilting. There is a small Sotheby's is tag attached to the front, possibly from a previous auction.
