Antique Flying Geese Top, Newly Quilted measuring 84x110". The Flying Geese center is c1880. Bobbie Aug purchased the top and added the contemporary fabric borders. it was hand quilted by Dorothy Vice. Caroline Peterson assisted with the completion of the quilt, as well. It was finished in 1998. It is in good condition, with a few discolorations. There is a sleeve for hanging attached to the back along the top of the quilt. This quilt can be seen on page 72 of "Vertical Quilts with Style" co-authored by Bobby Aug. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer, quilt store co-owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter's Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
