Vintage c1920 Double Wedding Ring - 16 Patch
Vintage c1920s Double Wedding Ring measuring 74x86". At each ring intersection is a 16 patch block! Very unusual! There are 30 interlocking rings, 19.5" in diameter, set straight, 5 by 6. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and natural muslin reverse. The edge is finished with an applied bias binding in tan. It fair condition with edge wear and a few spots. There is a sleeve attached with safety pins on the back along the top of the quilt and signed by Bobbie Aug. This quilt can be seen on page 84 of "Vintage Quilts" co-authored by Bobby Aug. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter's Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
