Vintage c1940 Grandmothers Fan Quilt measuring 73 by 83 inches. It is comprised of 90 grandmothers fan blocks, about 7 by 7 inches, set straight, 9 by 10. There is a triple off white, green, off white border, 5.5 inches wide. It is hand and machine pieced, and hand quilted. There is a thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with and applied solid purple fabric binding. It is in good condition with a few small spots. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter's Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
