Antique c1880 Rose of Sharon Quilt measuring 76x76". it is comprised of 9 blocks, 20x20", set straight, 3 by 3, with 2" muslin sashing and 6" borders, 3 are appliqued with an undulating vine and flowers and buds. It is hand pieced, hand appliqued, and hand quilted. This cotton batting and muslin reverse. The edge is finished with a thin applied binding, by machine. In good condition with minor fading and small spots. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co-owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter's Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
