Antique c1860 Whig Rose Quilt
Antique c1860 Whig Rose quilt measuring 77"x 79". It is comprised of 5 complete blocks, 22"x22", set on point and staggered 2x2 with partial block setting triangles. There is an 8" wide undulating vine and flower border. It is hand pieced, hand appliqued, and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and an off-white cotton reverse. Edge has remnants of a brown solid cotton applied binding. It is in poor condition with several spots, a torn corner, overall edge wear, a small tear and fading in the green dye to blue. This is a very intricate pattern with very good applique workmanship. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $25 is a domestic shipping estimate for first quilt and includes insurance.
