Antique Nine Patch Quilt c1900
Antique c1900s Nine Patch quilt measuring 70 x 78 inches. Comprised of 168 blocks measuring about 5 x 5 inches, alternating nine patch blocks and a printed plaid, set straight, 12 by 14, with a 4 inch border along all four sides. Quilt is hand and machine pieced and hand quilted, thin cotton batting, with a cotton shirting print on the reverse. The back is brought to the front and applied by machine to finish the edge. In good condition with overall toning, spots, and water marks. Purchased at a Montclair, New Jersey estate in 2003. Label on the back states that there is some conservation, but appears to be very well done. We do our best to describe all items in detail and provide pictures.
