Antique Variable Star Quilt c1890s
Antique c1890s Variable Star quilt measuring 85 x 100 inches, comprised of 168 variable star blocks about 5.5. x 5.5 inches, set on point 12 x 14 with printed alternating squares and triangles. Fabrics include earlier prints such as an 1850s turkey reds, and 1880s browns, but also 1890s clarets and Garibaldi red. A medium loft cotton batting, a striped cotton reverse, claret print fabric binding applied by machine. Hand pieced and sparsely hand quilted. Purchased from an estate in Montclair, NJ in 1995. In fair condition with overall toning, spots, water discoloration, overall wear to the binding, fading to the claret, and some splits to the fabric down the center. We do our best to describe all items in detail and provide pictures. If you have any doubt, please ask questions! We will provide extra pictures, or can schedule an in person or video conference preview at your convenience. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $25 is a domestic shipping estimate. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy. Depending on how many lots we can pack, it may cost an additional $5.
