Antique c1880s Small Scale Nine Patch quilt measuring 75 x 89 inches, comprised 725 squares, set straight 25 x 29, alternating between nine patches and solid off white squares measuring about 3 x 3 inches. No sashing or border. Thin cotton batting, white cotton reverse. Binding is a red and white print applied on grain by machine to front and by hand to back. The rest of the quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted in an overall diagonal parallel line. The quilt has been washed by a previous owner and there are many remaining tidal marks along with other small spots and one large spot. Quilt may have been made by M. Ruth Apgar.
