On the pedestal base, Sevres Made in France. Condition: Statue of boy has evidence of chips, cracks, and/or repairs.  Alexandre Brongniart, 1770–1847, was a French geologist, mineralogist, and chemist who was a director of the Sevres porcelain factory and a professor at the Museum of Natural History in Paris. He established the principles of ceramic chemistry in his work, Traite des arts ceramiques et des poteries. With Georges Cuvier, he developed a system of stratigraphy using fossils to date rock layers, and he was the first to systematically study and classify trilobites.
