WWI US Army AEF M1918 Wollensak Trench Periscope w/Leather Carry Case - Original - WWI US Army AEF M1918 Wollensak Trench Periscope w/Leather Carry Case - Original. The periscope has one lens cover. The top lens cover is missing. There is some minor paint loss on the periscope. The optics are clear. The wooden handle is in excellent condition, no cracks or breaks. It includes the leather carry case. The leather has some signs of use and age. The stitching is all intact, no fraying. The retention strap on the lid is worn thin and has some wrinkling and surface cracks. The insulation in the lid is still present. The case is marked #1451 in marker on the lid. There are loops in each side for a leather shoulder strap. The strap is no longer present. This is a very nice example for your WWI Collection. This would make a welcomed addition to any WWI AEF Collection.
