Late 19th Century Korean Root of Elm Blanket Chest Bandagee - A beautiful Korean Bandagee Blanket Chest dated approximately 1850-1900 and produced in the Kyunghee province of Korea. The chest is made of the root of elm and red pine and is decorated with white brass fixtures. The fixtures are in the shape of butterflies and bats. Korean character marks and Yin-Yang decor on the front. The chest opens to a large door and four small drawers. Measurement: H 39 x W 43 x D 18.5 inches Condition: large crack to the top, scratches and blemishes visible Provenance: purchased by current owner in September 1983 at K and G Art in Seoul, Korea.
