French Empire Gilt Bronze Mantel Clock with Orpheus Playing The Lyre, Late 19th Century - French mantel clock in gilt bronze, probably late 19th century.  White porcelain dial with black Roman numerals, heavily decorated, portraying Orpheus and his lyre sitting on the clock and resting his feet on a stool and an oversized lyre on the other side.  The base is decorated with a mythological scene of Orpheus enchanting creatures with his music.  Standing on four decorated feet.  Measuring H 23 W 14.25 D 5 in Wear consistent with age, key included.
