Theodore Nicolai Lukits (1897 - 1992) American/Hungary - Theodore Nicolai Lukits (1897 - 1992) Watercolor on Paper, Signed, Measures ( x inches ) w/frame ( x. inches ) Known for his portraits of celebrities in Los Angeles, Theodore Lukits was born in Temesvar, Hungary and came to the United States in 1898. He studied at Washington University and later at the Art Institute of Chicago with Wellington Reynolds and Alphonse Mucha. In 1922, he moved to Los Angeles and established the Lukits Academy of Fine Art, which operated for 65 years. Condition: The absence of a condition report does not imply an object is free of defects.
