Pedro Avila Gendis was born in Camaguey, Cuba in 1959. Initially, Avila studied at The School of Art in Cuba where he exhibited his works extensively. Avila also held a number of successful exhibitions in New York, Miami, Argentina, Bolivia, Cuba, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, Washington D. C., Portugal and other venues around the world. Avila has been called a modern day tropical abstract artist and is one of the most respected contemporary artists of his era. Avila has won a number of awards and his paintings, sculptures and public art pieces are displayed around the world.
