These pieces come from some of the finest American artists consisting of Wayne Morrell, Bernard Corey, Joseph Newman, and Charles Movali from New England and Livingston Roberts, Al Black, Emmitt Fritz and Winslow Homer. Throughout the consignment process we also received some fantastic international pieces from Nicola Simbari, Siegfried Detlev Bendixen, and Sonia Terk Delaunay. Maria Veronica Liszt (1902 - 1992) Oil on Board, Signed, Measures ( 17 x 14 inches ) w/frame ( 20.5 x 18 inches ) Maria Veronica Liszt (Kinder) was a second-generation Gloucester artist who was born on March 10, 1902 in Boston, Massachusetts. Her father was also an artist who had studied with John Singer Sargent. She was a graduate of the Scott Carbee School of Art and the Museum of Fine Arts School in Boston. She also studied at the Art Student League of New York and studied landscape painting with such notables as Aldro T. Hibbard, Karl Nordstrom, W. Lester Stevens and Emile A. Gruppe. She was an active member of the Northshore Art Association in Gloucester, the Gloucester Society of Artists, the Academy Art Association and the National Association of Women Painters. Talented and versatile, as well as prolific, she is best known for her landscapes, marines, figures and portraits. She accepted many commissions for decorative wall murals that were painted in private homes, hotels and public buildings
