Theodore Victor Carl Valenkamph (1868 - 1924) American
Theodore Victor Carl Valenkamph (1868 - 1924) Oil on Board, Signed, Measures ( 15.5 x 21 inches ) w/frame ( 21.5 x 27 inches ). A native of Stockholm, Sweden, Theodore Valenkamph became an East Coast marine painter. He emigrated to the United States and settled in Gloucester, Massachusetts in 1899. His work is currently being shown at Appleton Museum of Art in Ocala. Theodore Victor Carl Valenkamph's work has been offered at auction multiple times, with realized prices ranging from 100 USD to 6,000 USD, depending on the size and medium of the artwork. Since 2002 the record price for this artist at auction is 6,000 USD for Nocturnal Marine Portrait, sold at Thomaston Place Auction Galleries in 2022. The artist died in 1924.
