William Wendt (1865 - 1946) American - William Wendt (1865- 1946) Oil on canvas signed lower right. Piece measures (16 x 20) and (20 x 24) inches w/ frame. Great Condition with good amount of empasto. His style was impressionism, obviously influenced by the Decorative Style of Arthur Mathews, and his landscapes seldom had figures in them. Indicative of the breadth of his reputation was his election in 1912 as an Associate of the National Academy of Design in New York.
