Fifteen Block Quilt - American pieced quilt, circa 1850, composed of fifteen interlocking chain/lattice blocks arranged in a three-by-five configuration, worked in cheddar yellow, green, and reddish-brown printed cottons. The striking cheddar ground and rich green and brown-red palette are characteristic of mid-19th-century American quiltmaking. Finished with a wide red border and hand quilting. Approximately 60 x 60 inches. With staining, fading, and wear consistent with age and use.
