1880s Sixteen Patch Quilt - American pieced quilt, circa 1880s, composed of thirty-six Sixteen-Patch blocks in pink, green, cream, and yellow cottons, arranged in a six-by-six grid and joined by yellow printed sashing with green cornerstones. Finished with wide yellow and pink borders and hand quilting featuring scrolling designs. 88 1/2 x 78 3/4 inches. With staining and discoloration consistent with age and use.
