The ring has a supportive gallery and under gallery, and the approximate 2.3 mm shank bears the Oscar Friedman hallmark and gold content. Spinel is often called ”The Great Imposter” because it has been mistaken for ruby and sapphire for centuries.  The ”Black Prince Ruby” is actually a red spinel that is in the Imperial State Crown of England since nearly 1367AD.  Queen Victoria wore a necklace given to her in 1850, long thought to be the world's largest ruby, called the ”Timur Ruby”. In 1853, it was found to actually be a 353.5 carat red spinel! Please inquire about sizing if needed. Please allow an additional 10 days for shipping if we resize it.
